With Leanne Hirsh Founder, Creator & Perfumer with a deep background in traditional Amazonian & Andean Shamanic Plant Medicines, and a current focus on Tibetan herbal medicine. Leanne is intuitive & her classes and process reflect her creative heart & organic way of teaching & sharing her love & passion for the plants and their essences.

Over the course of two sessions, each student will create their own unique signature scent, learning how to work with the different extractions through creation and concept to realization. Each student will work to identify and fix design problems together as they build their scent’s formula.

After the students have created & revised their blends we will share each others work and Leanne will go over the blends in class, to identify what might need adjusting to fix and evolve the finished blends.

Learning in a collaborative process from each others individual creations guided in real time allows a level of depth & knowledge & process not possible in a single sitting.

Working with an expanded library of rare and expressive materials, you’ll learn the structure of natural fragrance, the balance of accords, and the subtle artistry that transforms a blend into something unforgettable. Each session builds upon the last as we learn to understand what contributes to essences working or not within a perfume blend.

Topics include:

• Fragrance families & categories of essences

• Using different forms of essences & extracts -- essential oils, absolutes, concretes, tinctures.

• Exploring fragrance fillers & accessory notes

• Formulating accords to balance & highlight chosen essences

• Odor studies & design exercises

• How to create a perfume from foundational essences

• Resources for materials, aromatics suppliers & equipment.

This is a slow, immersive, highly personalized experience—designed for those who value craftsmanship, creativity, and the beauty of process.

You’ll leave with a deeper understanding into the art of perfume creation, a 15ml bottle of your own signature fragrance, with the formulation behind it—something you can return to, refine, recreate, or develop further.
