Our Story
A Topanga Atelier of Healing Perfumes
Perfumera Curandera is the work of Leanne Hirsh — an Emmy Award–winning makeup artist turned botanical perfumer. From her Topanga Canyon atelier she makes 100% botanical, small-batch scents by hand, with intention, in a ritual setting.
Her elixirs carry extracts of Amazonian and Andean medicine plants, distilled exclusively for her and grounded in over three decades of study with traditional curanderos and plant healers across Peru and the Andes.

I’m Leanne Hirsh, an Emmy Award–winning makeup artist & botanical perfumer, producing in house over 25 hand made plant based Perfumes, Body /Shower Bath/ Face Skin Elixirs & Roomsprays formulated & developed in my Topanga Canyon atelier.
For spas, hotels, wellness retreats, upscale boutique hotels & boutiques on location, I create signature scents drawn from the place itself — its landscape, its plants, its spirit. For your guests to enjoy during their stay and to take home with them - a Somatic memory & reminder of their time with you.
Each scent is built with in house handmade tinctures from local plants that evoke the botanical character, A Scent of Place.
What I Create
There are different ways to work with me: choose from scents in my line, or have a custom scent created from scratch. Everything can begin in my studio, and if it needs to scale, I can adjust and consult to have it outsourced.

How a Proposal Is Shaped
Set the Scope for your unique Scent Experience
Format
A botanical perfume workshop, Garden-to-Bottle. A collaborative learning experience.
Group
Up to eight guests with Leanne; nine to sixteen with an assistant. (Assistant fees additional per day.)
Facilitators
To tailor your bespoke experience, Leanne works with established facilitators for Scent & Sound, Scent & Breath and Scent & Tea — add a second guide.
Location
Within greater Los Angeles, no travel fee. Beyond, travel is hosted by the property.
A 50% deposit holds the date.
01 · The Signature Workshop
Botanical Perfume Workshop
Leanne travels with rare botanical materials and essences. She teaches the foundational aspects of Natural Botanical Perfumery. Guests experience precious raw aromatic materials & learn how to build accords & structure & blend a signature perfume entirely their own to take home. 3 Hour Class sessions or can be tailored on request.
Small groups with Leanne, or larger with Leanne plus her assistant.
02 · From the Land
Garden-to-Bottle
Leanne leads guests on a walk through your gardens and grounds to forage and harvest the plants that grow there, then guides them to turn what they gather into herbal teas, herbal remedies, Bath soaks & salts, tinctures and infused oils — a keepsake of the place itself, from where it grows.
